We pride ourselves on the mental and physical soundness of our Labradors. We strive to improve our breed by pairing our best Sire and Dam including selecting outside stud dogs that we feel meet our high expectations for temperament, health, and trainability. Producing healthy dogs means certifying our health testing through the OFA (Orthopedic Foundation of Animals), Echocardiogram and Embark. We follow the LRC INC parent club recommend health testing for our breed, this includes Hips, Elbows, Eyes. We also do DNA health testing through Embark for various genetic markers.
We offer a 30 month health guarantee on all puppies for hips, elbows, eyes. See Health Guarantee Section for additional information.
At RidgeView, our goal is to improve the breed. We hope to achieve this by breeding quality males and females that meet our high expectations for temperament, health, and trainability.

We believe that a puppy’s early life is critical for neurological development. From conception to 8 weeks and on, we ensure our puppies are given the best possible start to life. We do Early Neurological Stimulation, Early Scent Introduction, and the Rule of Sevens with every litter. Pups that remain with us past 8 weeks are put into our Amazing Puppy Program where they are introduced to crate training, obedience, socialization, and more!

Our Standard of Excellence
At Ridge View, our Labradors excel in type, soundness, temperament and health. All our breeding dogs have OFA clearances (for hips and elbows) and yearly ACVO eye exams. We strive to breed only the highest quality Labradors and to carefully place them in very special homes. We are deeply committed throughout the year to ensure that each of our adult dogs is properly fed, exercised, is up to date on vaccinations and health care, and of course, played with and loved daily. Our Labradors are part of our family. We believe the key to a happy puppy begins with the total health of the parents and we hope it shows. We therefore extend the following instructions and health guarantee to new puppy owners:
Our Health Guarantee Covers:
Hip/Elbow Dysplasia and Eye Disorders
1. Hip/Elbow Dysplasia: Given that many factors can contribute to hip dysplasia, including over-feeding puppies, we require that the dog be between 24-26 months of age at the time hip dysplasia is diagnosed by a certified veterinarian. If there is a question concerning the diagnosis of hip dysplasia, all x-rays must be submitted to the Orthopedic Foundation for Animals (OFA) for final determination. For our records, we require a copy of all veterinary records of the dog, together with a copy of the diagnosis, x-rays and OFA report, no later than 48 hours after diagnosis.
2. Eye Guarantee: If your dog is less than 26 months of age, has been examined by a certified veterinary ophthalmologist and the diagnosis is determined to be Progressive Retinal Atrophy/Degeneration (PRA or PRD), we require a copy of all veterinary records of the dog, together with a copy of the ophthalmologist report, no later than 48 hours after diagnosis.
At Ridge View Labradors, we are very concerned should any of our offspring display characteristics of either genetic hip/elbow dysplasia or Progressive Retinal Atrophy or Degeneration. We ask that you inform us as early as possible as to the possibility of disease. Regarding a positive diagnosis in your dog, we require the following:
• The dog must be AKC registered and have “Ridge View” as a prefix in the AKC registered name.
• The dog must be in the possession of the original owner (this health guarantee is non-transferable)
In the event your dog is diagnosed as genetically defective, with a debilitating condition, and non-functionable as a companion, we require the following:
• All health records of the dog including x-rays and reports must be submitted to us within 14 days of diagnosis.
• Proof that the dog was euthanized by a certified veterinarian, or
• Proof of spaying or neutering performed by a certified veterinarian, together with all registration papers assigning the dog’s ownership back to Ridge View Labradors.
Replacement Procedure
Although we sincerely expect that your dog will remain healthy and disease free, we offer the following replacement policy for hip/elbow dysplasia and PRA/PRD only, as described above:
You may select a new puppy from our first available litter as a guaranteed replacement. At no time will any money be refunded.
